News Roundup - Bruno Clips, Eric Bana Loves Cars, and Eclipse Director Debate

I feel blurby today. Thankfully there's some movie/entertainment news that lends itself to short-but-sweet pieces. First up, Universal Pictures wants everyone to know they'll be premiering some clips from Bruno, Sacha Baron Cohen's follow-up to Borat, at SXSW in Austin, Texas on Sunday, March 15th. Be among the first people in the known universe to see this special preview of Bruno footage by showing up at the Alamo Drafthouse South Lamar for the 11pm showing. It's free, but show up and get in line early as it's going to fill up fast.

Eric Bana Can't Drive 55
He'll next be seen playing Nero in Star Trek, directed by JJ Abrams and hitting theaters on May 8th, but before all the hoopla hits for that movie and makes it impossible for him to concentrate on anything else, Eric Bana's heading to the Tribeca Film Festival with a smaller project that's close to his heart. Bana's a long time car enthusiast and his Love the Beast - a self-directed documentary - will unspool at Tribeca. The 8th Annual Tribeca Film Festival will be held April 22-May 2 and features 85 feature-length and 46 short films.

Who Will Direct the Third Twilight Movie, Eclipse?
Wow, Twilight number two - otherwise known as New Moon - hasn't even begun shooting yet and already there's speculation over who will direct Twilight number three. Eclipse, which if you've read the books you know has a lot of special effects as well as some interesting action scenes (and a lot more Edward than New Moon), is set to hit theaters on June 30, 2010. Catherine Hardwicke directed the first film, Chris Weitz is at the helm of the second movie, and for a while it looked like everyone was rooting for Drew Barrymore (yes, that Drew Barrymore) to direct Eclipse. Now Entertainment Weekly's reporting Spanish director Juan Antonio Bayona is supposedly on the studio's list of potential directors. Bayona's background is in horror films, and Twilight fans may not want to see the series go as dark as Bayona might take it. For now, the studio's not commenting.
