Matt Damon to Star in The Adjustment Bureau

Screenwriter George Nolfi (The Bourne Ultimatum, Ocean's Twelve) is reuniting with Matt Damon for the sci-fi love story The Adjustment Bureau loosely based on the Philip K Dick story Adjustment Team. Universal snatched up the project after it was shopped to different studios, with Damon hoping to make this his next film after completing work with director Clint Eastwood on his Nelson Mandela movie (currently known as The Human Factor).

Dick's short story was originally published in 1954 and told the story of a man who mistakenly stepped out of his own time. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Nolfi's script finds Damon playing a politician attracted to a ballerina who finds mysterious forces are somehow keeping the would-be couple from getting together.
