Summit Gives the Go-Ahead to New Moon

It should come as absolutely no surprise that Summit Entertainment, the fledgling studio behind Twilight, has gone ahead and confirmed they're moving forward on the next film in the Twilight franchise - New Moon. Summit released the following email blast - signed by Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson - to supporters of Twilight:"To all of our wonderful, loyal and fantastic fans -
Thank you from the entire cast & crew for your amazing support of Twilight. You've blown away all of our expectations, and we feel so honored to have made a film that means as much to you as it does to us.
Without your passion, interaction and support, this film would not be where it is today -- the #1 movie in America!
From every city, every stop, every interview we have done, you've made this an unbelievable, nearly surreal experience...and so cool that we were all in this together.
We just heard from Summit that we'll be moving forward on New Moon. We look forward to sharing this next chapter with you!"
If the film version of New Moon stays true to Stephenie Meyer's second book in the franchise, it will focus more on Jacob (played by Taylor Lautner) than it will on Edward (Robert Pattinson). However, based on how popular Pattinson's become since fans decided to embrace him as the handsomest vampire on the planet, I'm betting screenwriter Melissa Rosenberg will find a way to work in more scenes with Edward than are included in Meyer's book...

I really hope they keep Edward’s visibility in New Moon the same as in the books. Part of the joy of seeing edward again in Italy is that you only get his occasional memory voice from Bella while she’s going through this depression. It creates an amazing sense of longing for Edward so that when you see him again its almost glorious to be with him again. I can’t see how they could show what he’s doing on his own and still keep that.
I agree, but I bet there will be some pressure put on the screenwriter to try and squeeze Pattinson as Edward in a few more scenes. But I do prefer they stick with the storyline from the book.
Yeah , I agree the should stick to the exact words and themes going on in the book .If they didnt it wouldnt be New Moon.I cant wait to see it and I hope the dont change up any characters like they do in some movies or i am not watching it because you get used to seeing the first characters and then you change it up , its not the same.
i would love to be in a movie my life long dream is to become an actress. robert and kristen are my heroes!

It would really suck if they changed any of the characters or if they showed what Edward was doing during his time away from Bella. So i agree that everything should go along with the new moon storyline.
