Christian Bale Steps Back Into the Batsuit for The Dark Knight

Christian Bale was sporting a buzz cut courtesy of another Warner Bros Pictures movie – Terminator Salvation – at the Los Angeles press junket for The Dark Knight, the second Batman movie for both Bale and writer/director Christopher Nolan. Bale, like Nolan, was only interested in doing another Batman movie if there was a compelling story to tell and if it could live up to the standards they set the first time out of the gate with Batman Begins. Will Smith's drunken superhero Hancock was no match for the return of the cigar-chomping, cat-loving, Barry Manilow-singing red demon who fights evil. Guillermo del Toro's Hellboy II: The Golden Army opened with $34.5 million, an impressive $12 million more than the first Hellboy movie did during its opening weekend. The news wasn't so bright and shiny for Eddie Murphy. Murphy's latest comedy effort - Meet Dave - tanked, posting just $5 million during its first three days in release.
