In the Editing Room with Shoot Em Up's Writer/Director
Tuesday June 12, 2007
Clive Owen gets into the action again with Shoot 'Em Up, a dramatic film that finds Owen protecting a newborn baby from a really dangerous and determined criminal (Paul Giamatti). Writer/director Michael Davis understands the basic plot sounds similar to that of Children of Men which also starred Clive Owen, but Davis isn't overly concerned about the comparisons."I knew when he was doing Children of Men, there was a slight comparison of him being with the baby, and then later on relieved that I got him even though he could have said, 'I don’t want to do two movies with a baby.' The movies are so different," explained Davis. "There’s such a sober feeling in Children of Men. I loved the movie but this is so comic book-y and over the top and just fun, that I really don’t think he was ever bothered by it, I’m not bothered by it. So, it really never came up. Maybe audiences out there might, but I think it’s a completely different movie, which is balls-out action." Read On...

New on DVD - Ghost Rider
Nicolas Cage has always been a huge Ghost Rider fan, and even sports a Ghost Rider tattoo which - interestingly enough - had to be covered over for the film. Cage's enthusiasm for all things Ghost Rider comes across in the movie, which is a decent comic book movie even non-comic book fans might enjoy. Ghost Rider DVD ReviewMore on Ghost Rider:
