Ben Foster on Alpha Dog and His Upcoming Films
Monday January 8, 2007
Ben Foster is known for taking on challenging roles and playing characters with a bit of an edge to them. Foster's starring turn in Alpha Dog is especially representative of the sort of project the actor likes to sink his teeth into. Inspired by true events and written/directed by Nick Cassavetes, the story revolves around three days in the lives of a group of Southern California teenagers involved in drugs.- More on Alpha Dog:

P.D. James' novel Children of Men comes alive onscreen (albeit with a couple of major plot changes) via the masterful filmmaking of Alfonso Cuaron (Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban, Y Tu Mama Tambien). Cuaron skillfully weaves a fascinating story of nightmarish proportions by smoothly mixing high drama, dark humor, and one of the most riveting action sequences in recent history, into the tale of a dystopic society we can only hope is in no way prophetic.(Photo © Universal Pictures)
Box Office Report - Jan 5-7
Ben Stiller continues to rule the box office. Stiller's Night at the Museum easily held onto first place for the third straight week. There appears to be no stopping the family comedy or the Will Smith film The Pursuit of Happyness, which finished in second place once again.Meanwhile new releases were met with mixed results. Alfonso Cuaron's adaptation of P.D. James' Children of Men novel was the big surprise of the weekend, taking third place while playing on only 1,200 screens. However another newcomer didn't fare anywhere near as well. Cedric the Entertainer's silly comedy Code Name: The Cleaner didn't even make the Top 10 during its opening weekend. The Cleaner finished in 12th with a measly $4.5 million.
