Monday December 18, 2006
Robert De Niro steps behind the camera for the second time with the dramatic film The Good Shepherd. De Niro not only directed the film but also produced the pic and played a small but crucial role. The Good Shepherd explores the early days of the CIA, focusing on how the organization affects one man (played by Matt Damon) over the course of his adult life.- More on The Good Shepherd:

Mel Gibson's over-the-top violent epic, Apocalypto, enjoyed only a one week stay on the top of the charts. Moviegoers instead flocked to The Pursuit of Happyness with Will Smith and the goofy dragon film Eragon. Sony's got to be happy with Happyness' $27 million take and 20th Century Fox is probably satisfied with Eragon's $20 million in sales (although it had an estimated budget of $100+ million). But Paramount Pictures' new big screen version of a classic childrens story failed to snag many ticket buyers in its web.Top 10 Films for the Weekend Ending 12/17/06:
