Elisha Cuthbert Discusses The Quiet and 24

Monday August 28, 2006
Elisha Cuthbert was so impressed with the script for the dramatic film The Quiet that she not only signed on to star in the movie but also chose to produce the film as well. What was it that grabbed her about The Quiet? Cuthbert told me in an exclusive interview, "When I got the script for The Quiet, I was just blown away at the story and the fact that it was about women, and obviously the characters. And so in doing so I realized there wasn't any funding, and no other actors were attached to the project; it was just the director. I kind of said, 'I'm not going to wait around for a studio to figure out I could do a movie like this or even wait for the script. We've got it now, right here.' I felt strongly about the movie and wanted to be a part of it." Read On...

Box Office Report - August 25-27
Samuel L Jackson and Snakes on a Plane had a very short stay on the top of the box office charts. The Internet hype definitely isn't paying off as the film slid down into seventh place in just its second weekend in release. Meanwhile, Invincible - a pigskin tale inspired by true events - captured the top position and proved audiences are ready for another feel-good sports movie. Other new releases for the weekend lagged far behind the football film, with one new release - How to Eat Fried Worms - not even managing to make it into the Top 10.

Top 10 Films for the Weekend Ending 08/27/06:
    1) Invincible - $17,031,122
    2) Talladega Nights: The Ballad of Ricky Bobby - $8,122,642
    3) Little Miss Sunshine - $7,371,263
    4) Beerfest - $7,031,228
    5) World Trade Center - $6,473,299
    6) Accepted - $6,344,475
    7) Snakes on a Plane - $6,167,366
    8) Step Up - $6,163,436
    9) Idlewild - $5,745,780
    10) Barnyard - $5,652,932

Thank you for keeping us updated with the latest in hollywood. Seems like Invincible is still at the top spot. This really makes me more intrigued of that movie. Can’t wait to see it it here in the philippines. Do you have any idea when would that movie’s play date be, here in the phil?
