Naomi Watts on "King Kong" and Meeting Fay Wray

When Fay Wray whispered in her ear, "Ann Darrow's in good hands," actress Naomi Watts knew it would be okay for her to take on the role Wray made famous in the original 1933 version of "King Kong." (Photo © Universal Studios)

Watts was only able to meet with the legendary actress once before Wray's death, however that one meeting meant the world to her. Watts said that , "That was some great passing words because it felt like she was giving me permission, and I was given the baton, you know?" Watts said that during the dinner she attended with Wray, it was very clear filmmaker Peter Jackson was in awe of this woman.     Any worries Disney may have had about the launch of a new franchise were put to rest when "The Chronicles of Narnia" opened to huge numbers this weekend. "Narnia" took in $65+ million and earned enough to snag the third best opening weekend of 2005 title away from the Tom Cruise/Steven Spielberg collaboration, "War of the Worlds." Only the final installation of "Star Wars" and the fourth "Harry Potter" movie posted better opening weekend numbers this year. (Pictured: Anna Popplewell © Walt Disney Pictures)
