Gong Li Discusses "Memoirs of a Geisha"

Gong Li stars as Hatsumomo in "Memoirs of a Geisha," based on the novel by Arthur Golden and directed by Rob Marshall ("Chicago"). (Photo © Columbia Pictures) Gong Li plays what's considered the 'bad girl' role in the film version of the best-selling book, however Li doesn't look upon this character as the villain. "I don't think she is a bad woman at all. I think actually she is a very strong woman - almost a kind of flare or fire, always burning and burning.
