Inside "Flightplan" with Jodie Foster
Monday September 19, 2005
Two-time Academy Award winner Jodie Foster ("The Silence of the Lambs," "The Accused"), not only alternates acting with producing and directing, but is extremely picky when it comes to taking on new projects. That means it's often years in between movies for the Oscar winning actress. When Foster does show up in front of the camera, it's usually in something totally different from anything she's done before.Previous to her starring role in "Flightplan," Foster was seen in a small supporting role in the French film, "A Very Long Engagement." Before that she took on the role of protective mother in the dramatic thriller, "Panic Room." And right before that movie, she played a nun in - and produced - the indie film, "The Dangerous Lifes of Altar Boys." If you're looking for a pattern, you won't find one. And at this stage, Foster appears to be quite satisfied with her career's overall direction.
