Alexis Bledel and America Ferrera on "Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants"

Alexis Bledel ("Gilmore Girls") plays a quiet, unassuming beauty who explores her Greek ancestry, while America Ferrera ("Real Women Have Curves") co-stars as a teen who's estranged from her father in the big screen version of Ann Brashares "Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants." Teaming up for interviews to promote the film, Bledel and Ferrera spoke about the book that inspired the movie, the 'chick flick' label, and their other projects:

The summer movie season is now underway and all the studios have been busy little bees releasing new photos and trailers in hopes of kicking up the buzz on their upcoming releases. One film I'm particularly looking forward to is "Red Eye" starring Cillian Murphy and Rachel McAdams (pictured - ©DreamWorks) and directed by Wes Craven. Murphy plays an assassin out to kill a rich businessman onboard a flight to Miami. McAdams is his reluctant accomplice. Interview with Amber Tamblyn and Blake Lively from "Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants"
"Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants" star Blake Lively's pretty much brand spanking new to feature films (she did have a very small part 6+ years ago in "Sandman," directed by her dad) while Amber Tamblyn's been acting for ages. The two may not have logged anywhere near the same amount of hours in front of the camera, but that doesn't mean they don't have a lot in common. Both young actresses come from performing families, and both share a desire to advance in the entertainment industry.
