Set in the 1950s, "Mona Lisa Smile" is the story of a first-year teacher who thinks she can make a difference in the lives of her students= but is disillusioned when she discovers her students are merely going through the motions of college in order to prepare themselves for marriage and children. Kirsten Dunst, Julia Stiles, Maggie Gyllenhaal, and Ginnifer Goodwyn co-star as Roberts' students.
